Data

Where your data lives

Understand where Revisync keeps your data and the real limits of that protection.

Applies to Revisync 1.x

In the MVP, study data stays on your device. The app does not require an account, login, own backend or remote analytics to work. Notifications are scheduled locally.

Protection and limits

The database uses SQLCipher to make casual reading by other apps more difficult. This is not a promise of invulnerable protection: the MVP has an application key embedded in the APK, and an attacker able to analyse or modify the APK may overcome that barrier.

When you export a backup through the system picker, the file leaves the app’s private storage. Its privacy and security then also involve the provider and account you choose.

Honest summary: Revisync is local-first and reduces collection, but no device storage should be treated as impossible to access.
